Es Trenc beach

Platja des Trenc

The longest wild beach in the south: fine white sand, dunes and salt pans instead of hotels. The water is shallow and calm, but in July and August you need to arrive in the morning.

Getting there

  • From Campos or Sa Ràpita by the MA-6101 road to the car parks by the beach.
  • Parking: Two paid car parks (ses Covetes, behind the dune).
  • Restrictions: Paid parking. We could not confirm a TIB line to the beach at the time of our check; check the timetable at tib.org.

Questions and answers

Where do I park at Es Trenc and what time should I arrive?

There are two paid car parks: at ses Covetes and behind the dune. In July and August the sources describe very high visitor numbers, so in practice it is best to be there before 10:00. Leaving and returning on the same ticket is not guaranteed, so ask the car park staff.

Can I get to Es Trenc by TIB bus?

We could not confirm the line number to the beach. The nearest base is Colònia de Sant Jordi, from where you walk to the beach along the salt pans from the northern edge of the town. Check the timetable at tib.org before you go.

Is Es Trenc good for children?

Yes, the entry into the water is gentle, and the water is shallow and warms up quickly. Strong currents can appear in a westerly wind, so keep children close to the shore.

Is Es Trenc crowded in summer?

Yes. Spain.info gives high visitor numbers, and ca.wikipedia describes very heavy traffic every summer. Outside July and August, especially in June and September, it is noticeably quieter.

What facilities does Es Trenc have?

According to ca.wikipedia: a lifeguard on part of the beach, one restaurant, a small medical post and a few kiosks. Spain.info adds umbrella and sunbed hire. The sources contradict each other on toilets (spain.info: yes, mallorca.com: none) and shade (none), so bring water and a parasol.
