Cycling in Mallorca: road climbs

The classic climbs of the Tramuntana and beyond, with elevation profiles from our own terrain model. We compare length, elevation gain and gradient with published sources and show next to every figure whether they agree.

How we measure the climbs

Road from OpenStreetMap, a profile every 25 m from a 30 m terrain model (Terrarium), smoothed to resist sinkholes and tunnels. We compare the result with published figures of the same definition (same start and finish); “agree” means our measurement and at least two sources within tolerance. The 500 m gradient is an estimate from a 30 m model, not a GPS measurement.

The colour next to a fact shows where it comes from: 2+ sources agree 1 source sources differ
