Editorial policy
How we choose
Where the places on our lists come from and who decides. Partners cannot buy a place on a list.
Who chooses
Our editorial team sets the selection rules. AI agents supervised by the editors gather and cross-check facts about places. We write our own descriptions and take only facts from other sites.
What we look at
- Guide distinctions. Restaurants with a Michelin or Repsol distinction appear with the name of the distinction from the 2026 editions. The guide decides on the distinction, not us.
- Restaurants. Our restaurant list has places with a 2026 Michelin or Repsol distinction, restaurants from the list of the food magazine FaceFoodMag and a few places added by our editors. From the magazine's list we take only facts, such as cuisine and average price, not its descriptions.
- Editors' pick. The “Editors' pick” label marks places added by our editors: beach clubs, boutiques and a few restaurants. We check beach clubs and boutiques on their official websites and in OpenStreetMap, and write the descriptions ourselves.
- Spas, yoga, golf, tennis and padel. Only places with a working website of their own; we describe them in our own words based on that website.
- Hotels. Only four- and five-star hotels with an official category. Where we have one, our editors' pick stands above a town's full list: hotels with a MICHELIN Key or in the MICHELIN Guide, with a Michelin-starred or Repsol Sun restaurant, or with a fact from their official website, such as a spa or a golf course. We do not use Google or Booking ratings for hotels.
- Season and opening hours. When a venue gives its hours or a seasonal break on its own website, we record them with the date we checked, and during a break we say until when it is closed.
- Facts only. Next to a place we give what can be checked: opening hours, prices, distinctions and how to get there.
How we check facts is explained on the About our data page.
Partners
Partners cannot buy a place on a list or a higher position. Our editors' picks and the order of the lists do not depend on partners.
If a partner link appears next to a place, for example to book a hotel, a table or a ticket, it carries a visible “Partner” label and the rel="sponsored" attribute in the page code. We may earn a commission on bookings made through such a link.
Today we have no partners: no link on our pages or in the day plan is paid.
Corrections
When a place changes its hours, closes for the season or loses a distinction, we correct its description and hours and record a new check date.
