Questions and answers

Where can I park at Cala Varques and when should I go?

You leave the car by the gate on the Porto Cristo-Cales de Mallorca road (about km 9.2). Go in the morning, because the path through the forest and ravine is in full sun.

Can I get to Cala Varques by TIB bus?

No line to the gate has been confirmed. The nearest towns are Porto Cristo and Cales de Mallorca; check the timetable at tib.org.

Is Cala Varques good for children?

The sources do not describe the depth. The 15-20 minute walk with no shade and no facilities makes an outing with small children difficult.

Is Cala Varques crowded in summer?

Spain.info describes visitor numbers as low, but a small cove of about 90 x 60 m fills up quickly once it makes it into the guidebooks.

Are there any facilities at Cala Varques?

No. According to ca.wikipedia there are no showers, toilets or sunbed hire. Bring water and shade.
