Questions and answers
Which beaches in Mallorca are shallow for children?
Es Trenc beach, Cala Mondragó, Playa de Muro (Platja de Muro) and Cala Agulla. Each beach has its own answer about waves and currents.
Is Es Trenc good for children?
Yes, the entry into the water is gentle, and the water is shallow and warms up quickly. Strong currents can appear in a westerly wind, so keep children close to the shore.
Is Cala Mondragó good for children?
Yes, Wikipedia describes the water as shallow and clean.
Is Platja de Muro good for children?
The beach is described as flat and family-friendly, with very fine sand.
Is Cala Agulla good for children?
The sand slopes gently, and there are Red Cross lifeguards nearby. Spain.info does note moderate waves, though, so check conditions when it is windy.
Is Cala Deià good for children?
It is a stony, narrow beach (6-10 m wide), so it is not an ideal spot for small children.
Is Cala Torta good for children?
Not really: the seabed drops away quickly, and strong currents can appear when there are waves. Cala Agulla is a better choice for children.
How much do children pay at Caves of Drach (Coves del Drach)?
Adults (13 and over) €18.50 online and €19.50 at the ticket office; children aged 3-12 €11.50 online and €12.50 at the ticket office; free up to age 2.
How much do children pay at Alfàbia Gardens?
Admission €10 for adults, €5 for residents of Mallorca (with DNI), children under 12 free; discounts cannot be combined.
How much do children pay at Bellver Castle?
Free admission on Sundays, for children under 14, school groups and some organised groups (with ID).
