Questions and answers

When and where are the markets in Palma?

The most permanent is Pere Garau: the hall is open daily from 6:00, and the outdoor stalls are there from Monday to Saturday. On Saturdays there are also markets in Son Ferriol (8:00-14:00) and Santa Catalina, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Can Pastilla (8:00-14:00). The sources differ on the details of the days for some districts, so it is worth checking the district before you go.

Where can I park in Palma?

There are paid zones in the centre and their number is growing (Mallorca Magazin, March 2026). The old town is best visited on foot, so it is best to leave the car outside the strict centre or not bring it at all. We could not confirm current tariffs.

How do I get to Palma without a car?

All SFM trains (T1 to Inca, T2 to sa Pobla, T3 to Manacor, metro M1) and most TIB buses start at the Intermodal station on Plaça d'Espanya. From Inca the T1 train takes about 36-38 min, from Sóller bus 204 about 28-40 min, from Valldemossa bus 203 about 25-40 min.

When is the quietest time to visit Palma?

Editorial assessment, not measured: out of season (November-March) and on weekdays before 10:00. The cathedral and old town are then calmer than in summer and at midday.
